Out of the top 90 projected wide receivers (week 14) there are 42 owned in less than 65% of leagues. A.J. Brown is projected for 8.7 fantasy points which is good enough to be ranked #29 and tops among players who could be on the waiver wire based on relative lower ownership percentage. Other considerations at wide receiver include Randall Cobb and Dede Westbrook. There are 21 wide receivers whose projected week 14 rank is much better than their actual rank. Stefon Diggs, at #1, is the highest ranking wide receiver of this 'must start' group. There are only 7 wide receivers who are projected to be week 14 fantasy busts. Randall Cobb, for example, is projected to be just the #57 wide receiver. He is still probably a fantasy starter for most owners. With new grant program, Bay Area spreads electric cars to low-income drivers
Standing beside his new car, a 2016 Ford C-Max hybrid with an eggshell-white exterior, Ignacio Hernandez beams. Charge the electric battery and it glides for 200 miles, swooshing along the Interstate 880 and Interstate 580 freeways from Hernandez’s home in East Oakland to his job managing a Burger King in Dublin. It purrs so quietly that Hernandez barely hears the motor, and in the long run, it will save him money: His old car, a sputtering, 1996 Toyota Camry, cost thousands of dollars a year for gas and repairs. But purchasing a hybrid was unthinkable until Hernandez got a $9,500 grant from Bay Area Air Quality Management District, through a program that aims to make clean-air vehicles accessible to low-income Californians. “Definitely cost is one of the biggest barriers to getting people in these vehicles,” said Rebecca Fisher, a program manager at the district who is helping steer Clean Cars for All. Fully driverless cars could be months away
Real driverless cars could come to the Phoenix area this year, according to a Monday report from The Information's Amir Efrati. Two anonymous sources have told Efrati that Google's self-driving car unit, Waymo, is preparing to launch "a commercial ride-sharing service powered by self-driving vehicles with no human 'safety' drivers as soon as this fall." Obviously, there's no guarantee that Waymo will hit this ambitious target. But it's a sign that Waymo believes its technology is very close to being ready for commercial use. And it suggests that Waymo is likely to introduce a fully driverless car network in 2018 if it doesn't do so in the remaining months of 2017. Waymo plans to launch first in the Phoenix suburbs Efrati reports that Waymo CEO John Krafcik faces pressure from his boss, Google co-founder and Alphabet CEO Larry Page, to transform Waymo's impressive self-driving technology into a shipping product. Page had been … [Read more...] about Fully driverless cars could be months away
British car manufacturing dips on lower overseas demand
British car manufacturing has fallen over the first 10 months of the year as the first signs emerge that UK car production is being hit by rising global economic uncertainty. The number of cars rolling off UK production lines was down 0.3% compared with the same period in 2013, at 1.28m vehicles according to the figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The dip was driven by a fall in demand overseas, with the number of cars built in British factories but destined for export down 1.4% at a just over 1m. Writing in the Guardian on Monday, David Cameron said that “red warning lights are flashing on the dashboard of the global economy” presented a real risk to the UK economy. The SMMT admitted global economic uncertainty was weighing on demand for British made cars, but argued recent investment in UK production would support the industry. “The UK’s car manufacturing industry is still in a strong position in spite of the growing uncertainty … [Read more...] about British car manufacturing dips on lower overseas demand

Lewis wants to know what's taking so long. Building the upcoming $2.7 million Mercedes-AMG One Hypercar hasn’t been easy, but based on the test car it should be worth the wait. In case you haven't heard, Mercedes dominated the 2019 F1 season winning the 2019 Constructors Championship by a healthy margin. Fresh off his 6th F1 championship, Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton decided to visit the Mercedes-AMG One team to see what’s taking so long. Based on the footage, the team is hard at work track testing their newest hypercar in everything from full-electric mode to all-out race-pace. The Mercedes-AMG One is powered by a road-going version of the W10 Mercedes F1 car’s 1.6-liter V6. If you can imagine, getting a temperamental F1 engine to handle road driving is no easy task. For starters, the Mercedes-AMG One’s engine was initially designed to idle at 5,000 rpm in the Mercedes F1 car. Then there's the issue of starting this engine. … [Read more...] about Lewis Hamilton Checks Out Mercedes-AMG One Development Car
