Bradley Cooper, 44, and Irina Shayk, 33, breaking up was apparently "no surprise", a source told ET. "They haven't been getting along for quite some time and seemed to be holding on to their relationship for the sake of their daughter," the source said, referring to the couple's two-year-old girl, Lea De Seine. "Those closest to them had high hopes that when Bradley completed promoting A Star Is Born, they would find time to work out their differences, but things only got worse," said the source. "Some of their friends feel they never truly got a chance to know each other outside of being a family, and it was just all too much too fast." According to the source on ET, Shayk is "unhappy" with the actor's work schedule. "Irina truly had high hopes for their future together and felt once the baby was born, they would find the time to marry but that never came to fruition," the source said. "She wanted more from Bradley in every way. But she was unhappy and felt he spent too … [Read more...] about Did A Star Is Born cause Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk to break up?

LOS ANGELES: A British-born millionaire who went on the run for more than four years has been arrested in Mexico and extradited to the US to face trial for the murder of his wife at their California home. Peter Chadwick, a 55-year-old naturalised American citizen, was located near Mexico City thanks to a tip after authorities offered a US$100,000 reward, police said at a press conference on Tuesday (Aug 6). "Today is sweet. We apprehended a fugitive on America's Most Wanted List," Orange County district attorney Todd Spitzer said, adding: "Let's not forget it's bitter - there's a victim, a loving wife of 21 years, a mother of three kids." Chadwick and his wife, Quee Choo Lim, disappeared from their home in October 2012, according to True Crime Daily. Police were called after the couple failed to pick up their sons from school. SINGAPORE: It was the afternoon of Mar 10, 1965, and 21-year-old Yunnos Shariff could feel the ground rumbling beneath his feet. As the fire alarm at the Central fire station on Hill Street sounded, louder alarm bells rang in his head. "I said: 'Eh something is wrong!' I told the boys that they had to be careful, this is only the beginning," recalled Mr Yunnos, now a sprightly 75-year-old. Cloistered in the second floor of the fire station's control room, Mr Yunnos gave the orders for his men to dispatch three fire engines. His instructions were followed to the tee - firefighters began to climb into their gleaming red vehicles, gearing up for a day forever seared into the annals of Singapore history. Three victims would lose their lives that day because of the MacDonald House bombing, with more than 30 others injured. As Mr Yunnos looked out the window, one of the men about to be mobilised cut a familiar figure - it was his father. "At first, I was so scared (for his … [Read more...] about Riots, bombings, building collapses: Born in a fire station 75 years ago, this ex-SCDF officer still volunteers in one
SINGAPORE: About 150 baby turtles were hatched last year at Singapore's first and only hatchery for these marine creatures, the National Parks Board (NParks) said on Wednesday (Aug 21), nearly a year since its official launch in September 2018. The turtle hatchery at Sisters’ Islands Marine Park was built as part of efforts to provide a safe space for incubating eggs, which faces threats caused by human traffic, light pollution and predators such as monitor lizards. Singapore is home to two species of turtles: the hawksbill turtle and the green turtle, both of which are critically endangered. The turtles visit various shores around Singapore to lay eggs during the nesting season from May to October. Each nest contains between 100 and 200 eggs. When CNA visited a hawksbill turtle nest along East Coast Beach on Wednesday morning, a clutch of 152 eggs were recorded. Of those, 98 eggs were relocated to NParks's hatchery on Small Sister's Island. The rest of the eggs were … [Read more...] about 150 hatchlings born last year at Singapore’s only turtle hatchery: NParks
