The album is filled with demos from the ‘70s and ‘80s that she’s finally properly recorded with her favorite producer, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, the Mad Hatter behind 2011’s In Your Dreams. The new album arrives in conjunction with a U.S. tour for Fleetwood Mac, which is welcoming back into the band keyboardist-singer Christine McVie, who’d retired to the English countryside 16 years ago after developing panic attacks and a fear of flying. On October 9, Stevie will be performing on The Today Show, plus opening an exhibit at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in Soho of her personal Polaroid selfies taken from 1975 to 1987. After that, she’s packing up those shawls for more of the tour, which runs until March 18. So, on the occasion of this burst of activity, I’ve compiled a few … [Read more...] about 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Stevie Nicks

Snapchat turns down $3 billion acquisition offer from Facebook, report claims
Snapchat has reportedly turned down an acquisition offer from social network king Facebook valued at $3 billion or more in cash. The reason for declining the offer is because the Venice, California-based startup is currently being courted by multiple investors according to sources familiar with the matter as reported by the Wall Street Journal. That’s no small chunk of change as it is three times what Facebook paid for Instagram but at the same time, Snapchat has emerged as one of the world’s most popular messaging apps over mobile. Facebook reportedly bid $1 billion for Snapchat previously, the publication notes. The service is especially popular among today’s youth that are growing tired of Facebook and those looking to distance themselves from it because their parents now hang out there. Snapchat hasn’t disclosed the exact size of its user base but at last check, the two-year-old service handles some 350 million messages each day. One estimate claims that … [Read more...] about Snapchat turns down $3 billion acquisition offer from Facebook, report claims
Instagram’s new Stories feature is a lot like Snapchat’s old Stories feature
Companies introducing features that are similar to those used by their rivals is nothing new. It's something Facebook knows all about; Instagram - owned by the social network - is again borrowing heavily from Snapchat with “Stories,” which allows users to post content that disappears after 24 hours. Much like the version found in the ephemeral photo/video app – also called Stories – the Instagram feature lets users share photos and videos in a 10-second long slideshow format. You can add emoji, drawings, text, and swipeable color filters to your photos. Stories appear as a row of small profile photos at the top of your feed, sorted by who you interact with most. When new stories are created, a rainbow-colored ring will appear around a user’s picture. It’s also possible to see the stories of people you don’t follow, as long as they’ve made them public. Unlike Snapchat, viewers can move through the stories at their own pace. You can jump … [Read more...] about Instagram’s new Stories feature is a lot like Snapchat’s old Stories feature
Dominic Raab admits the Foreign Office asked police to delay telling Harry Dunn’s parents ‘killer’ US spy’s wife had left the UK as they say they expect officers to charge Anne Sacoolas over tragic crash
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab today admitted the government asked police to delay telling Harry Dunn's parents that his accused killer had fled Britain. Northamptonshire Police are reported to have informed the teenager's family that US diplomat's wife Anne Sacoolas had left the country - ten days after officers found out. Mr Raab revealed today that there was a delay asked for by the government - but only 'by a day or so' - so the Foreign Office could inform ministers of the development. He insisted in a television interview that the police 'delayed a bit longer' and said: 'they were responsible for that.' It comes as Harry's parents said they expected British police to charge Mrs Sacoolas over the teenager's death. Harry 19, was killed when his motorbike was involved in a head-on collision with a car allegedly driving on the wrong side of the outside RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire on August 27. Police visited Mrs Sacoolas, 42, at her home the next … [Read more...] about Dominic Raab admits the Foreign Office asked police to delay telling Harry Dunn’s parents ‘killer’ US spy’s wife had left the UK as they say they expect officers to charge Anne Sacoolas over tragic crash
She’s in the next room, do you want to meet her? Harry Dunn’s parents REJECT Donald Trump’s ‘bombshell’ offer to confront their son’s killer in White House ambush – and he REFUSES to send US spy’s wife back to face UK justice
Harry Dunn's parents were 'ambushed' by Donald Trump who held the hand of his mother in the Oval Office and revealed he had secretly smuggled the American diplomat's wife who killed their son into the room next door to meet them. But Charlotte Charles and Tim Dunn told the US President it was 'inappropriate' and they won't face Anne Sacoolas until she returns to Britain and hands herself in to police telling him: 'If it was your son you'd be doing the same as us'. Mrs Charles said they were 'shocked' when President Trump dropped the 'bombshell' that the woman who knocked down Harry while driving on the wrong side of the road was yards away. Sacoolas, who claimed diplomatic immunity and fled the UK on a state-sponsored private jet last month, had been whisked from a secret location to Washington DC after the President invited Harry's parents to the White House last night. And then in an extraordinary moment Mr Trump reportedly revealed that Anne … [Read more...] about She’s in the next room, do you want to meet her?
