London Marathon still looking to hold race on Oct 4: Race director

· June 19, 2020 ·

REUTERS: London Marathon race director Hugh Brasher said on Friday (Jun 19) that organisers are working to ensure the rescheduled race is held on Oct 4 despite the cancellation of September's Great North Run due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The cancellation of the annual half marathon had raised doubts about the London Marathon going ahead due to the challenges faced by organisers in implementing social distancing protocols. Brasher added that they would be providing a further update on the status of the race on Jul 28. The marathon was initially postponed from its original Apr 26 date due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. "There has been much speculation that this means the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon will also be cancelled. However, it doesn't," Brasher said in an open letter to runners. "The team at London Marathon Events has been looking at the logistics ... and coming up with innovative ways to socially distance the event. "We have also been working with other mass … [Read more...] about London Marathon still looking to hold race on Oct 4: Race director

2023 Honda CR-V Spied For The First Time, Looks Bigger

· March 1, 2021 ·

Caught from afar, the next-generation CR-V doesn't look so compact anymore. The fifth-generation Honda CR-V was unveiled towards the end of 2016 and got a facelift about three years later. Fast forward to March 2021, our spies have put their extra-long telephoto lens to good use by catching on camera from afar a prototype of the new crossover while undergoing handling tests at a facility somewhere in Europe. With this being only our first look at the sixth-gen CR-V, it's no wonder the prototype is covered in camouflage from front to rear. That said, we can't help but notice the crossover seems to have grown in size while the front and rear overhangs continue to be quite large. The overall design appears to be more angular and the hood seems longer and flatter than before. Companies should look to transform business models as Singapore reopens: Chan Chun Sing

· June 16, 2020 ·

SINGAPORE: Even as Singapore progressively reopens, businesses should look to transform their business models, said Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing on Tuesday (Jun 16). As the country moves into the second phase of its post-”circuit breaker” period, businesses are concerned with how they can reopen “safely and in a sustainable way”, he said. “And in the third phase that will be coming up, we'll be helping the businesses to see how they transform some of their business models,” he added. Sen. Cotton: Pelosi’s $1.9 Trillion Stimulus Bill ‘Swamp Looking After Itself’

· March 1, 2021 ·

During an appearance on FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) slammed the $1.9 trillion spending bill passed by the House of Representatives. He deemed it the “swamp looking after itself.” “One reason I think Joe Biden thinks there’s no time to waste is that Democrats can see cases have plummeted since early January,” he said. “They can see that we now have three effective vaccines, and vaccination rates are surging. So, I think they’re worried they won’t have the coronavirus as an excuse to pay off all of their clients and patrons in a $1.9 trillion blowout bill. As you said, less than a dime of every dollar goes to the coronavirus.” “Just take a look at the payoff of some of their constituencies, $350 billion for states that are poorly run and that have long-standing problems but didn’t even lose money because of the coronavirus, places like California and New York,” Cotton continued. “A hundred and thirty billion dollars for schools but only a nickel of that … [Read more...] about Sen. Gas company Energean to offer $2.5 bln bonds as it looks to repay debt

· March 1, 2021 ·

- Energean said on Monday its unit would offer $2.5 billion worth of bonds to refinance existing loans, as the Eastern Mediterranean gas group looks to shore up finances during the health crisis. The London-listed company said the senior secured notes offering was yet to be priced and it was expecting to offer notes with four different maturities, following a review of options to refinance its debt. Energean said in January delivery of the first gas from its Israeli fields could slip by two to three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic as oil and gas demand has been hit. The project was expected to be operational at the end of this year.
