The historic Super Bowl 50 showdown kicked off to a fittingly cutthroat start ( ads and all ) on Sunday. Not to be outdone, Coldplay delivered a colorful halftime show that included a medley of “Viva La Vida,” “Adventure of a Lifetime,” and “Fix You,” among others tunes and nods to the past. (It was kind of like School of Rock met a California kaleidoscope.) Oh, and as promised, Chris Martin thankfully shined the Beyoncé and Bruno signals, which led to an “Uptown Funk” – ” Formation ” showdown that ended too soon. Roll the clip above to witness (or relive) the ephemeral slayage, and read our critic’s take here . … [Read more...] about Watch Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance

ATHENS: Europe has discovered its moral Rubicon, the frontier beyond which commodification becomes intolerable. The line in the sand that Europeans refuse to cross, come what may, has just been drawn. We bowed to bankers who almost blew up capitalism, bailing them out at the expense of our weakest citizens. We turned a blind eye to wholesale corporate tax evasion and fire sales of public assets. We accepted as natural the impoverishment of public health and education systems, the despair of workers on zero-hour contracts, soup kitchens, home evictions and mind-numbing levels of inequality. Lot of factors,” said Dhoni. “Overall, if I have to sum it up, the … [Read more...] about IPL 2021: MS Dhoni reveals how ‘quarantine’ had an impact on Chennai Super Kings performance last year
MELBOURNE: Four years after Western Force were cut from Super Rugby, leaving players in tears and Australia divided, the Perth-based side will feature in their first playoff on Saturday with much of the country behind them. Little was expected from the Force when they were invited back into the fold for Super Rugby AU, a domestic competition born from the disruptions of COVID-19. The doubts only grew as they lost all eight matches in the inaugural season last year, despite pushing their provincial rivals. But after felling the competition-leading Queensland Reds last weekend in front of ecstatic home fans, the Force are convinced of their standing in the game. "No doubt. If you make the finals, no matter what competition you play in, you’re doing something right," Force head coach Tim Sampson told Reuters in an interview. "The club was always heading in the right direction. We internally knew exactly what we were doing. "All the knockers who didn't understand what … [Read more...] about Rugby-Force awakens for first Super Rugby playoff
