New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (March 6) expressed appreciation towards the armed forces for their efforts during the challenging situation on the northern border While addressing the valedictory session of the Combined Commanders Conference organised by the Ministry of Defence at Kevadia, Gujarat, Modi also praised the forces for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was briefed by the Chief of Defence Staff about the discussions during this year's Conference. He praised the structure and agenda of the Conference. Modi particularly appreciated the inclusion of junior commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers in this year's Conference. This was the first time the jawans were invited at the prestigious event. Police Tasered a driver after he crashed a stolen vehicle following a high-speed chase on icy roads. Lee Smythe, 34, was spotted behind the wheel of the racing-prepared Porsche 911 GTS two hours after he stole it. Road cameras picked up the £60,000 supercar as it headed south from Staffordshire to Birmingham on January 25. Dramatic dashcam footage shows a patrol car follow the Porsche – which has a dizzying top speed of 194mph – racing in the city centre. Smythe, who had a passenger in the car, then shot through a red light and sped away, despite the roads being covered in ice and snow. He led cops on a heart-stopping chase through city streets before he lost control on a roundabout and span the car 180 degrees.
