Family of 18 goes on scavenger hunt around home as they reveal their vacation destination – & it ends with happy tears

· February 25, 2021 ·

A FAMILY Family of 18 went on scavenger hunt around their home as they revealed their vacation destination. The Nelson Family's adventure ended with happy tears, as the 16 kids were ecstatic to find out out where they'd be heading for their trip. Tiffany Nelson – who runs the YouTube channel Not Enough Nelsons – documented the family's adventure in a video. Gathering the family in the living room, older sister Kassidy, 21, said the family would be doing a "balloon challenge" and going on a hunt for clues. As the first clue told the them to go to a place that "never sees the sun," the kids all ran upstairs to the movie theater on the third floor. One of the kids found a present – which they opened to find the clue: Hershey's kisses. The kids then excitedly ran to the kitchen, as they followed the next riddle. For the next clue, the box had a pair of goggles – and the kids ran outside to where they're planning to build a pool. They found another box, hidden … [Read more...] about Family of 18 goes on scavenger hunt around home as they reveal their vacation destination – & it ends with happy tears

I refuse to spend a penny over £700 on my daughter’s wedding – she can get married in a school with a second-hand dress

· February 19, 2021 ·

A MUM has thrown her daughter the “cheapest wedding ever” after refusing to spend more than $1,000 (£700) on her big day. Shelley Watson has been penny pinching for years and was not about to change her ways for daughter Ashley’s wedding to groom Colby Cosgrove. The mum, who appears on TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates, is determined to cut costs wherever she can, beginning with the venue. Rather than splash out thousands on a grand country house Shelley takes her daughter to the local school gym. “The best part about it is it’s free because my friends work here, it’s the perfect place to get married” Shelley says. However, not everyone is convinced. Denise, Colby’s mother, says: “I thought it was a f***ing joke, nobody in their right mind is serious about having it in a gym. It’s ridiculous.” “This is going to be the cheapest wedding ever,” Ashley agrees. When it comes to flowers, Shelley has come up with a budget solution, heading to a holiday warehouse Shelley … [Read more...] about I refuse to spend a penny over £700 on my daughter’s wedding – she can get married in a school with a second-hand dress

Family of 15 face homelessness if house big enough for them all can’t be found in time

· February 26, 2021 ·

A couple and their 13 children are facing homelessness if a house big enough for them doesn’t become available in the next nine weeks. Deborah and Craig Douglas have until the end of April to move out of their home in Dumfries after their landlady decided to sell up. Despite applying for a number of private lets and pleading with housing associations, the family still haven’t found anywhere big enough for their brood. And Deborah, 38, feels they are being “discriminated” against because of the size of their family. She said: “We’ve been in our current home for nearly five years but the landlady told us in November 2019 she was selling. “I immediately went to the council’s homeless department but 15 months down the line, they still haven’t found anywhere for us to go. “We’ve now got just nine weeks to find somewhere or we’ll be out in the street. “It’s only thanks to our fantastic landlady that we’re not already homeless but she can’t wait much longer. “My husband … [Read more...] about Family of 15 face homelessness if house big enough for them all can’t be found in time

How to see the full ‘Snow Moon’ and other celestial events this weekend

· February 26, 2021 ·

February's full moon, also known as the full Snow Moon, will shine brightly this weekend, and you can catch it if you're in the mood for some early-morning skywatching. The moon will be completely full at exactly 3:17 a.m. EST (2017 GMT) Saturday (Feb. 27). However, the moon will appear full from Thursday night (Feb. 25) until Sunday morning (Feb. 28), so there will be plenty of time to look up and see it, according to NASA . Indigenous groups in the northern and eastern U.S. named February's moon the Snow Moon because of the heavy snowfall that typically occurs during this month, according to the Farmers' Almanac . Moon names such as Snow Moon were applied to the whole lunar month and not just the full moon. Some tribes also referred to February's moon as the Hungry Moon, as the bad weather conditions made hunting for food more difficult than usual, according to the Farmers' Almanac.
