The Duke of Edinburgh has undergone a successful operation for a pre-existing heart condition, Buckingham Palace has said. Prince Philip, 99, will remain in hospital for a number of days following the procedure. A statement from Buckingham Palace said: "The Duke of Edinburgh yesterday underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. "His Royal Highness will remain in hospital for treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days." Philip was was initially admitted to the private King Edward VII's Hospital on February 16 as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell, before being moved to St Bartholomew's on Monday. Four days later, he was visited by his eldest son the Prince of Wales, who made a 200-mile round trip and stayed for around 30 minutes. SINGAPORE: A Singaporean woman involved in last Saturday's car crash in the Australian state of Victoria has died in hospital, state police said in a news release on Wednesday (Nov 28). The 20-year-old victim was among five Singaporeans in the car, which was driven by Nasuha Nasser. Two of the passengers, aged 20, remain in hospital in a stable condition, said Victoria police. It was reported that one of the injured is Nasuha’s twin sister, who suffered serious head and chest injuries. She was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital after the accident, according to 9News. Nasuha, 21, was charged on Sunday with negligently causing serious injury and dangerous driving causing serious injury. But the school near Grand Rapids, Michigan closed again a week later as COVID-19 infections surged there and across much of the country.
