MEGHAN Markle says elephants are 'just like us because they are protective of their young' in a Disney clip shown today. In the interview – which was taped last year when she recorded her narration for the Elephant film – Meghan spoke about her experience working on the Disney documentary. "These creatures are so majestic and at the same time they are so sensitive and so connected. We see in this film just how remarkable they are," Meghan said in the clip, which aired Monday on Good Morning America . "Their memories are amazing – the close connection of the herd, the protectiveness of their young," she added. Meghan, mother to her 11-month-old son Archie, said she feels humans and elephants are more similar than people may think. "I think they’re a lot more like us than they are different," she said. Meghan, 38, does a voice-over of the documentary – which began streaming earlier this month on Disney+ – narrating the elephant family's journey. ‘I don’t even cook at home’: Young hawker starts his career without any culinary experience
SINGAPORE: Mr Kwan Yee Liang first came across handmade noodles five years ago when he visited the stall of a former classmate's friend in Kuala Lumpur. "Got the bite ah, (it's) QQ," he said, referring to the springy and chewy texture of the handmade noodles. These are most commonly used in dishes like the banmian - a Chinese noodle dish. "First time I ate, I told him, 'Wah, you should bring it to Singapore to sell'. I told him that the business will definitely prosper," Mr Kwan said. Instead, it was Mr Kwan who acted on the idea. Despite having limited knowledge and zero experience of the hawker trade, Mr Kwan decided to sign up with the National Environment Agency's (NEA) Incubation Stall Programme just to try his hand at the hawker trade. He was particularly attracted to the lower start-up cost offered by the programme. READ: New programme launched for aspiring hawkers Mr Kwan only had to pay half the rent for a six-month period and was given a stall that came … [Read more...] about ‘I don’t even cook at home’: Young hawker starts his career without any culinary experience

Infocomm Development Authority executive deputy chairman Steve Leonard, who led the challenge's seven-strong judging panel, said it would contact other agencies here such as national water agency PUB to see how Mr Kabessa's idea could be used here. The five-day summit was organised by the National Research Foundation and attended by 350 young researchers. BENGALURU: Indian opposition politicians and activists on Monday (Feb 15) condemned the arrest of a 22-year-old climate activist after she was accused of helping disseminate a document by Greta Thunberg promoting farmer protests. Police picked up Disha Ravi from her home in Bengaluru and took her to Delhi for questioning over her alleged role in disseminating the document in the months-long protest outside the Indian capital. A Delhi police source said that Ravi had been arrested in connection with a sedition case against the alleged authors of the "toolkit" on how to help the farmers. Sedition carries a penalty of life imprisonment in India. On Sunday, a court ordered Ravi into custody for questioning for five days, prompting outrage on social media and among the farm unions. "Disha Ravi's arrest is the latest escalation in India's crackdown on free expression and political dissent, as it seeks to stifle the farmers' mass protests," said Shashi Tharoor, a member of … [Read more...] about Arrest of young Indian activist, tied to Thunberg’s movement, stirs outrage
