Golden Globes this Sunday (February 28) will kick off 2021's awards season in a hybrid manner, with some celebrities walking down the red carpet while others joining in through webcams and the safety of their homes. Keeping the pandemic in mind, the Golden Globes this year will be taking place on two coasts for the first time. Comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be returning for the fourth time to host the awards show. While Tina Fey will host from New York, Poehler will be joining from Beverly Hills, California. According to reports, the award presenters will be seen on both stages but the winners will appear virtually from all across the world. The Golden Globes kicks off a pandemic-era Hollywood awards season on Sunday (Feb 28) after a year that upended the entertainment industry and saw celebrities on red carpets replaced with webcams on sofas. Yet somehow the show is going on, albeit without the chummy gala dinners, hordes of photographers, and designer gowns associated with the celebration of the year's best films and TV shows. Sunday's ceremony will take place for the first time on two coasts, with comedians Tina Fey hosting from New York and Amy Poehler hosting from Beverly Hills, California. The second Global Young Scientists Summit in Singapore was officially closed on Friday by President Tony Tan Keng Yam, who also announced the winner of the summit's Singapore Challenge to come up with ideas for sustainable cities. Mr Yossi Kabessa, a researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, won a gold medallion and US$100,000 ($128,130) for his water monitoring proposal. This uses genetically-engineered bacteria, airborne vehicles and fast-response teams to detect and contain pollutants and other harmful substances in the water supply system. Infocomm Development Authority executive deputy chairman Steve Leonard, who led the challenge's seven-strong judging panel, said it would contact other agencies here such as national water agency PUB to see how Mr Kabessa's idea could be used here. However, after the intervening months proved the quarantine will be with us for a while, organizers went ahead and aired a prerecorded 2020 Oliviers on Sunday, October 25. (Since this year’s nominees were announced March 3, it probably just felt cruel to make them sweat it out any longer.) Among this year’s winners is the Hot Priest himself, Andrew Scott , who took home this year’s Best Actor award for his turn in Present Laughter .
