Two Baton Rouge Walmarts will begin offering coronavirus vaccines, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome said Wednesday. The store at 9350 Cortana Place and 14507 Plank Road will offer the vaccines from Feb. 25 to March 1, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. An appointment is needed: You can sign up online at www.walmart.com/COVIDvaccine. Those who get an appointment should bring an ID, proof of vaccine eligibility — like a work ID — and insurance card. In 2021, the city police set the goal to plant and care for 3,000 trees, in an effort to respond to the Government’s programme on planting one billion trees by 2025. On the morning of the same day, General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security attended a tree planting festival held by the People's Public Security Political Academy. Also on February 22, the Quang Binh Provincial Women’s Union in coordination with the Dong Hoi City Women's Union launched the Lunar New Year 2021 tree planting campaign, as part of the nation’s efforts to plant one billion trees within the five years from 2021-2025 at the call of the Prime Minister. Essar Power to set up 90 MW solar plant in MP for Rs 300 cr
New Delhi : Ruia-family run Essar Power Ltd will foray into renewable energy, setting up a 90 MW solar plant in Madhya Pradesh at an investment of Rs 300 crore, CEO Kush Singh said Wednesday. The entry into the renewable segment is part of a strategic decision to rebalance the power portfolio. "The board of Essar Power Ltd, an investee company of Essar Global Fund (EGFL), has approved an investment of Rs 300 crore in a 90 megawatt (MW) PV Solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh, marking the fund's foray into renewable energy ," he said. The renewable energy venture comes close on the heels of EGFL investing in hydrogen power in the UK and coal gas in India. The fund has overseen the completion of the deleveraging program of investee companies in the next two quarters. It intends to repay the balance debt Rs 10,000 crore which is largely in the power portfolio.
