LPG has doubled to Rs 819 per cylinder in the last seven years while the increase in taxes on petrol and diesel has swelled collections by over 459 per cent, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Monday. In written replies to a spate of questions on rising fuel prices in the Lok Sabha, Pradhan said the retail selling price of domestic gas was Rs 410.5 per 14.2-kg cylinder on March 1, 2014. This month, the same cylinder costs Rs 819. Small price hikes over the past couple of years have eliminated subsidy on cooking gas as well as PDS kerosene. Pradhan said the price of domestic subsidised LPG has been raised during the last few months. It cost Rs 594 per cylinder in December 2020 and now is priced at Rs 819. Similarly, kerosene sold to the poor through the public distribution system (PDS) has risen from Rs 14.96 per litre in March 2014 to Rs 35.35 this month, he said. Ontario plans to revamp Grade 9 — with an eye to ending streaming in the first, “critical” year of high school — as part of its new equity plan that will also compel school boards to collect detailed data on everything from staff hires to student suspensions. Education Minister Mitzie Hunter said in an interview that what happens now in Grade 9 — where students are streamed into the more theoretical academic, or the more hands-on applied courses — is a concern because teens in applied classes are less likely to finish high school or go on to post-secondary education. “We talk about streaming as a really key aspect of our equity action plan, taking a fresh look at Grade 9,” Hunter said. “We know that Grade 9 is a critical year in terms of transition for students. We want to see Grade 9 as a year where students can explore their pathways and get excited about their pathways. The next beta update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection introduces the first iteration of a custom game browser and brings back a Halo 3 map, amid other enhancements and bug fixes. But the news isn't all rosy: another map has been delayed out of its planned Season 6 launch. According to 343, the update is expected to launch sometime this week, during which testers can put it through its paces. The custom game browser will only be available within the Halo: Reach interface for now, though 343 plans to add it to more games in phases. The browser will let you create, browse, and report. Create lets you create a session that will run on a dedicated server, letting you toggle settings like the minimum player count, repeat game option, and map and mode selections. New Delhi: The General Secretary of the Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, Champat Rai on Saturday (March 6) said that the door-to-door fund collection drive for Ram Mandir has stopped but the devotees can still donate online by visiting the trust’s website. Champat Rai also added that the trust is in talks to acquire land for a ground in front of the temple, but nothing has been decided yet. While making the announcement, he revealed that the temple will be ready in 3 years. The new land, which is in talks, is adjacent to the 70-acre area designated by the Supreme Court for the construction of the temple. Earlier, the Ram Mandir trust had purchased an additional 7,285 square feet of land, adjacent to the proposed complex.
