Designed by game developers Naughty Dog, The Last Of Us is a bleak apocalyptic video game that imagines a world in which the killer, brain-altering fungi cordyceps has evolved to work as well on humans as it does on ants, turning them into zombies. It is a violent, dark, and ominous tale of a father’s search for hope and redemption in a world without either. It’s a stark contrast to developer Traveller’s Tales series of official Lego games, which specialize in adapting all-ages properties such as Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Batman, Lord of The Rings and more into plastic brick and minifig form. advertisement advertisement It is this contrast that makes animator Brian Anderson’s latest project such a stroke of genius: Anderson decided to take Naughty Dog’s bleak dystopian game and recreate it as if it were a Lego-brand video game meant for ages 5 and up. The origins of Lego Last Of Us actually begin with an entirely different zombified Lego … [Read more...] about Watch The Zombie Apocalypse In Lego

By Nick Winstead - September 6, 2017 10:53 pm EDT Share 0 Comments 0 Ok, so the world as we know it may or may not be ending this Friday, December 21st. Many think the Mayans all those centuries ago were onto something and over the past couple of years we have been treated to an endless stream of speculation, films, and all manner of citizen preparation for the upcoming (maybe) apocalypse. With that being said, it's high time to take a look at some of the more well-known comic book apocalypses. The developers behind one of 2011's most surprising hits,Dead Island, announced their next upcoming project today. While it wont necessarily be zombie-themed, Techland has said they don't really care for games with "unicorns and fairies" so we can still reasonably expect it to be a bloody mess of carnage. The game is tentatively being called Project Hell, and will feature a dark-fantasy setting. It apparently came into being when a Dead Island coder created a mod that allowed the player to freeze zombies in place before hacking them to bits with a two-handed sword. Apparently it was cool enough that they decided to base an entire game around the concept of first-person melee/magic.You can find more details about the project on its official blog, Sharpenyouraxes.com where they have a few developer blog posts, enemy reveals, concept art galleries, and other content for fans to scope out.And of course, Techland isn't neglecting their multi-million-selling franchise either. They're still … [Read more...] about “Project Hell” unveiled by Dead Island dev as next project
By Michael Hein - August 13, 2019 07:32 pm EDT Share 0 Comments 0 It has been a brutal year at Netflix, where the streaming service has had a lot of cancellations. As a burgeoning outlet in the entertainment industry, Netflix had a few golden years where its original programming seemed safe. Now, however, the cuts have begun, and they show no signs of stopping. Netflix has come a long way from the DVD mailing service it started out as to the biggest name in streaming it has become. After helping to popularize streaming in general, the company started producing original shows and movies. In less than a decade, Netflix has become a megalithic force in the world of entertainment media. Of course, not all of these shows could be a hit, and none could last forever. Netflix has just had to begin canceling its beloved original series in the last two years, and the floodgates are now open. These days, many fans feel that Netflix is … [Read more...] about See Every Netflix Show Canceled So Far in 2019
