The upcoming Pokémon movie, I Choose You! , will reimagine the first season of the popular anime show, but it is most likley going to leave out two of Ash Ketchum's best friends. And fans are not pleased. The Pokemon anime series had its U.S. debut in 1998, and followed Ash on a Pokemon journey in the first episode as he is introduced to the reluctant Pikachu and tells the tale of their quest to find more Pokemon for battle. During the adventure, Pikachu finally warms up to Ash and they forge a friendship after an intense battle. But they weren't the only ones becoming fast friends. After making four Marvel movies, including the record-setting Avengers: Endgame, directors Joe and Anthony Russo couldn’t be better served by the current model of the movie industry. Still, when it comes to their thoughts on the future of movies, they are bracing for imminent change. “Studios are in a cocoon right now, and they’re going to come out as butterflies on the other side” as streaming platforms, Joe Russo said. “And those may be as valuable or more valuable than their theatrical entities.” Their next movie is Cherry, which stars Spider-Man’s Tom Holland. But it’s a detour from their recent blockbuster forays and without the big blockbuster budget. We sat down to have a chat with the Russo brothers and quiz them about what lies ahead. But Cuarón brings to it a sense of detail drawn from a deep well of childhood memories, from the car that doesn’t quite fit in the carport to a radio station’s “Beatles vs. Credence” programming, to comic books, to — of course — the movies. However incidentally, the Netflix-distributed film that’s inspired the most passionate debate yet about whether it should be seen in theaters or will play just as well at home contains two memorable trips to the movies, excursions to the lush movie palaces and packed houses of Cuarón’s youth. And both feature snippets of films that would have played in the years in which the film takes place, … [Read more...] about The Significance Behind the Movies That Pop Up in
Few people knew what to expect with WandaVision when it first came out. Now with its last episode about to release, audiences finally know the entire series is a character study of Wanda Maximoff, and her struggle to deal with the loss of her android boyfriend Vision, who lost his life during Avengers: Infinity War and stayed dead for the sequel, Avengers: Endgame . In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Anthony Russo, who directed both films with his brother Joe, admitted that there was no plan at the time to spin Wanda and Vision off into their own series. "One of the great things about Endgame was our job was to sort of bring a sense of closure to a journey that had been unfolding up until that moment. The unique thing about Endgame for us was unlike Winter Soldier, unlike Civil War, unlike Infinity War is we did not have to think about what happened after Endgame. And in fact, that was a mutually agreed upon thing that we came to with Marvel, because that was what … [Read more...] about WandaVision Was Never a Consideration for the Russo Brothers While Making Avengers: Endgame
