SINGAPORE: Paper medical certificates (MC) issued by SingHealth institutions are expected to be replaced by digital MCs by 2020, the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) said. Writing on its media platform TechNews on Monday (Sep 9), GovTech said patients will receive digital MCs under a new system called DigiMC. The system has been piloted at the Singapore General Hospital and the National Heart Centre Singapore. Product manager Chong Zi Xin said 95 per cent of the 179 patients surveyed over a four-month period said they were satisfied with the new system. GovTech said it plans to implement digital MCs across all SingHealth institutions by early 2020. They will be issued in parallel with hard copy MCs for a few months before the latter is eventually phased out. About 1 million hard copy MCs were generated in 2017 by SingHealth, Singapore's largest healthcare cluster. SINGAPORE: A hand surgeon was cleared by the High Court on Monday (May 27) of charges of professional misconduct over a case of inadequate medical leave given to a foreign worker with a finger injury. Dr Looi Kok Poh had been found guilty of two charges by a disciplinary tribunal in May last year following disciplinary proceedings by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC). SMC commenced proceedings after receiving a complaint from Jolovan Wham of the Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (HOME) in October 2011, alleging that Dr Looi had colluded with the patient's employer. The doctor was handed a six-month suspension for failing to give adequate medical leave to his 32-year-old patient, an Indian national who worked as a welder in a shipyard, and for inappropriately certifying him as fit for light duties. However, Dr Looi appealed against the conviction and sentence, while the SMC appealed against the sentence, asking for a two-year suspension instead. The other day I had to clear out some space on my PC and, as ever, went for old gameplay clips. I found a Phasmophobia one from late last year, at the point where most of my buddies had stopped playing the game and so I was entering random lobbies as a solo player. One time, in the small hours of the morning, I ran into a group of players I can only describe as a kind of Phasmophobia musical improv. It's probably the greatest bit of 'found footage' I've ever had in a game, and I can't take credit for any of it. Below is what I can only call the Phasmophobia rap. It's a little faint at first but certainly builds, and apologies in advance for the odd f-bomb. If you have any love for this game it'll crack you up. The most remarkable thing about this rap is how tailored it is to the game and what's going on. At the start it's about UV lights and the fingerprints they've spotted, before what I'll call the party room reveal and the best use of glowsticks ever in a game. … [Read more...] about This Phasmophobia rapper has no right to go this hard
