British-Iranian aid worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has ended for five-year sentence in Iran, her lawyer Hojjat Kermani said on Sunday. Her ankle bracelet was removed, but she has been summoned again to court, according to British lawmaker Tulip Siddiq. "I have been in touch with Nazanin's family. Some news: 1) Thankfully her ankle tag has been removed. Her first trip will be to see her grandmother. 2) Less positive - she has been summoned once again to court next Sunday," Siddiq, who is the member of parliament for where Zaghari-Ratcliffe used to live, said on Twitter. It was not immediately clear whether Zaghari-Ratcliffe was allowed to leave Iran. Kermani was quoted as saying that "a hearing for Zaghari's second case has been scheduled at branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran." Turn the Terminal into a Matrix-Style Scrolling Screen of Binary or Gibberish
The command line is usually thought of as serious and we usually only cover useful terminal tricks that are fairly advanced, but not everything in the Terminal has to be useful. To prove that, we have three command strings that when pasted into the OS X Terminal, do nothing but scroll screenfuls of random text, binary, or your very own custom message, making your terminal window look a bit like the computer screens from the 1999 movie The Matrix. For the best looking (i.e. geekiest) results, at least change your Terminal UI settings so that the active window is styled as “Homebrew” or “Pro”, which uses green text against a black background. Or go all out and get a really fancy terminal appearance . Take the Terminal full-screen first if you’d rather have the scrolling Matrix-lookalike take up the entire screen. Turn the Terminal into a Scrolling Screen of Matrix-Style Gibberish Open Terminal, found in /Applications/Utilities/ or found through Spotlight or … [Read more...] about Turn the Terminal into a Matrix-Style Scrolling Screen of Binary or Gibberish

First Look: Apple TV Diary: Final thoughts
We’ve taken the first look , remarked on what might be , answered your questions , and, finally, issued judgment . It’s now time to wrap up the loose ends with some final thoughts on all that is Apple TV . HD or not? Since I started using the Apple TV one of the most common questions I’ve been asked is whether the device can play HD content. The answer is Yes. These are the Apple TV’s video specs: H.264 up to 5Mbps, Progressive Main Profile (CAVLC) with AAC-LC audio up to 160kbps with a maximum resolution of 1,280-by-720 at 24fps or 960-by-540 at 30 fps. MPEG-4 up to 3Mbps, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160kbps, with a maximum resolution of 720-by-432 at 30fps. The MPEG-4 specifications don’t equal high definition but the H.264 specs, at 1,280-by-720 at 24 fps, fall within the purview of 720p. VisualHub’s Advanced Settings window Encoding content in true-blue 720p isn’t exactly a walk in the park. First of all, you need HD … [Read more...] about First Look: Apple TV Diary: Final thoughts
