List of academy award winners

Noted exponent of Tholpavakkoothu M. Lakshmana Pulavar has been chosen for the Kerala Folklore Akademi Award, 2020. He won the award for his contributions to Palakkad’s unique temple art form. Lakshmana Pulavar is arguably the only Thopavakkoothu artiste in the State capable of presenting 2,100 slokas of Ramayana beginning from the birth of Lord Rama to his ascension to the throne ( Pattabhishekam ). Mr. Pulavar has also won several awards from the State and Central governments. His son Sajeesh Pulavar too had won the Kerala Folklore Akademi’s Yuva Pratibha Puraskar. Mr. Pulavar runs Harishree Kannan Tholpavakkoothu Kala Kendra at Koonathara, near Shoranur, in the district, where the art form is taught and promoted. Golden Globes this Sunday (February 28) will kick off 2021's awards season in a hybrid manner, with some celebrities walking down the red carpet while others joining in through webcams and the safety of their homes. Keeping the pandemic in mind, the Golden Globes this year will be taking place on two coasts for the first time. Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton emerged as the leading nominees with six each when the nominations for the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards were announced Friday morning. Morris’ strong showing is due in part to the success of her song “The Bones,” which landed her nominations for Single of the Year and Song of the Year (Morris co-wrote the crossover hit). As an artist, she’s up for Female Artist of the Year and, as a member of the Highwomen, for Group of the Year. Stapleton’s nominations arrive on the back of his latest album, Starting Over .
