The Los Angeles Lakers haven't been getting much out of their centers recently with Anthony Davis on the shelf with a calf/Achilles injury and Marc Gasol showing his age. LeBron James does not have a big, athletic lob target like with Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee last season, and that has probably contributed to the Lakers' offensive struggles over the last few games. So it's no surprise that Los Angeles would look to fill that void. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic , the Lakers will give former Vanderbilt big man Damian Jones a shot on a 10-day contract. Jones was recently cut by the Phoenix Suns but has started 49 games in his career for the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks. The former first-round pick has appeared in 12 playoff games, all for the Warriors, and won two rings with Golden State. Jones didn't get much of a shot with Phoenix, as he played 94 minutes over 14 games this season. Exclusive: Center for American Progress takes aim at Trump’s Wall Street-friendly rules
WASHINGTON: Washington's leading liberal think tank, which for years has shaped Democratic financial, economic and social policies, has begun drawing up a list of Wall Street-friendly rules that could be swiftly repealed if the party wins big in the election. The list from the Center for American Progress (CAP), shared exclusively with Reuters, offers the first glimpse at which of the financial rules by President Donald Trump's administration could be first on the chopping block if Democrats take the White House and the U.S. Senate on Nov. 3. According to CAP's analysis, these could be swiftly axed via the Congressional Review Act (CRA), a 1996 law that allows Congress to reverse new federal rules with a simple majority. The pre-registration system will enable the state to manage the flow of appointments, Dennis Schrader told a panel of lawmakers during a meeting online about the system. He also said it would help better coordinate with county health departments to manage appointments. Schrader said it’s expected to improve the user experience and better prepare for the day when vaccine supplies are much more abundant. Lawmakers on the panel have criticized the state’s vaccine rollout for not having a centralized way for people to register for appointments. Updates From Gov. Hogan’s News Conference: Gov.
