NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The first shipment of the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine could arrive in New York City as early as Tuesday. The shipment will help relieve some of the demand, and city officials say they already know how they will distribute the first batch. A spokesperson from Gov. It was different,” he told CBS2’s Alice Gainer. “In the early stages of the pandemic, we had free reign of the streets.” His route changed from mostly commercial to residential. “It was pretty desolate. I mean, ghost town, for lack of a better word,” he said. He served as a life line, bringing packages of food, toilet paper and PPE to people at home. Including one nurse on Long Island who kept a record of her experiences. “It’s a war we’re fighting, but I wouldn’t want to be any other place but here fighting it,” said Elyse Isopo, a nurse practitioner at North Shore University Hospital. Closely watched opioid trial in New York postponed due to coronavirus
REUTERS: A highly anticipated trial pitting New York state against McKesson Corp , Johnson & Johnson , CVS Health Corp and others for allegedly fueling the opioid epidemic has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to the court. The postponement of the March 20 jury trial was a precautionary measure due to the number of people traveling to attend, according to a spokesman for New York Attorney General Letitia James. A new trial was not set but a hearing will be held April 14 to decide next steps in the case, which is in state court in Suffolk County on New York's Long Island. The case is the first against a wide range of companies - drug makers, distributors and pharmacy chains - and was brought by the state of New York and the suburban New York City counties of Suffolk and Nassau.
