Sony Pictures Television -owned Stellify Media has optioned the U.S. and UK rights to My Ranking , a genre-bending singing game show from The Masked Singer creator Won-Woo Park. My Ranking is billed as a studio game show mixed with a celebrity singing contest, where contestants are challenged to guess how a live audience will rank the night’s performances from best to worst. If they judge correctly, they unlock a safe containing a cash prize. Park’s production company, DiTurn, has recently completed filming on a non-broadcast pilot in Korea in the hope that it can match the success of MBC Korea’s The King Of Mask Singer . Meat Loaf: Paper reports singer’s death despite him ‘recovering well’ after onstage collapse
FAIRFAX MEDIA Famed singer songwriter Meat Loaf has collapsed on stage, while performing in Edmonton, Canada. Meat Loaf is not dead. The Grammy winner's on stage collapse at a concert in Canada led one New York tabloid to post his premature demise in a headline which screamed, "Rock Legend dies after gig". In fact, Meat Loaf, 68, was discharged from hospital after undergoing "routine tests", the abrupt ending to the Thursday night concert attributed to severe dehydration by his representatives. "His vital signs are stable and normal and additional tests are being performed but he is responsive and recovering well," said a message to fans posted on his Facebook site, thanking them for their support and understanding. "He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery." Bay City Rollers singer Les McKeown has died at the age of 65, his family has said. In a statement posted on Twitter, they wrote: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband and father Leslie Richard McKeown. "Leslie died suddenly at home on Tuesday 20 April 2021." pic.twitter.com/YgZLzuGbM1 — Les McKeown (@LesMcKeownUK) April 22, 2021 Arrangements are being made for the funeral, which will be restricted to 30 guests in line with coronavirus rules, with the family asking for privacy amid their "shock and profound loss". His music has sound-tracked several generations, from road trips to crossover exposure through video games or being sung in the shower by TV antihero Walter White. Over a 50-year music career America’s Gerry Beckley has been anything but a poor correspondent in providing new offerings for fans. When America was formed in 1970, Beckley and bandmates Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek were teenagers living in England, sons of United States Air Force servicemen who joined to create a folk-rock sound that yielded musical imagery from their homeland. With Peek’s departure in 1977 (he died in 2011), Beckley is now half of a troupe that celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and enjoys a legacy of enduring hit singles, membership of the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
