India will play 22 Tests at home in the next five years and a tri-series has not yet been scheduled in the upcoming FTP. According to information obtained from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), India are to play 102 games in the next five years out of which two seasons will have very few home games. A top BCCI official said that as of now there is no tri-series slotted in the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the next five years and if the broadcasters are worried about the likelihood of having to pay a similar amount for non-India games, he cannot help. According to information available with this paper, India are to play 18 games in the upcoming season of 2018-19. In 2020-21, they will have even fewer games – just 14. But there will be 26 matches in 2019-20, 21 in 2021-22 and 23 in 2022-23. Doull believes, "I think they will be relatively flat, there might be little bit of grass early on but I don't they are not going to break up and turn - New Zealand surfaces never do - but they will leave a little bit of grass on it to give it some pace and some bounce.
