Illustrative image (Photo: VNA) HCM City (VNS/VNA) - The French Institute in Ho Chi Minh City will host a series of activities to celebrate International Women’s Day held at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) on March 8. The celebration will open with a photo exhibition featuring portraits of Vietnamese women taken by 15 young artists who participated in a photography workshop hosted by the French Institute in Hue and Da Nang in January. The photos can be seen until April 9. A talk show about gender equality will be organised featuring speakers of Julia Levivier, head of the French NGO organisation Planète Enfants & Développement (PE&D) in Vietnam, psychologist Ly Thi Mai, and Le Thi Hong Anh, head of Human Resources of Sanofi Vietnam. Non-motorized vechicles to be banned from driving through city center
According to the department’s proposal summited to the municipal People’s Committee, these vehicles have been banned to enter the city center, run on streets of Phan Dinh Giot (on the section from Nguyen Van Troi to Truong Son, Truong Son (on the section from Phan Dinh Giot to Hong Ha), Tran Quoc Hoan, Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Van Troi, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia (on the section from Nguyen Van Troi to Dien Bien Phu) , Vo Van Kiet from 5 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 10 pm from now until 2022. They will not be also allowed to travel on Hanoi Highway (on the section from the National Road 1A to Cat Lai interchange); and national roads of 1A, 1K, 13, 22 and 50, Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Luong Bang streets from 6 am to 8 am and 4 pm to 7 pm. From 2020-2025, the municipal authorities will limit three and four-wheel non-motorized vechicles on inner-city streets and adjust travelling tiem from 5 am to 10 pm. Hanoi students to return to school next Tuesday amid tight medical control
The Hanoitimes - Relevant agencies have been asked to exert efforts in ensuring safety for students when they resume going to schools, and enforce strict measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Hanoi students are set to come back to school on March 2 after one-month break and online classes to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a dispatch issued by the municipal People’s Committee on February 27. The date applies for students from kindergarten to high school levels, while colleges and centers for vocational training and continuing education will reopen a week later.
