Boba Fett to get standalone Star Wars spinoff TV series in December 2021

· December 22, 2020 ·

Boba Fett is joining the Star Wars characters who are stepping out from the background and getting their own show. Jon Favreau, creator of Disney's hit TV series The Mandalorian, said on Monday (Dec 21) that The Book Of Boba Fett will be a standalone spinoff series starring the clone bounty hunter previously best known for helping to capture Han Solo in the sci-fi saga. Favreau told Good Morning America that the series, which was teased last week during The Mandalorian finale, will debut on the Disney+ streaming service in December 2021. "This is actually separate from The Mandalorian season 3," Favreau said. The Mandalorian, which has proved a huge hit for Disney+, stars Pedro Pascal as a bounty hunter sent on a sensitive mission and features fan favourite Baby Yoda. It is the first live-action TV series set in the galaxy far, far away that was first seen on screen in the 1977 movie Star Wars. Serie A aims to raise 3.5 billion euros from domestic rights sale

· December 19, 2020 ·

MILAN: Italy's top flight soccer league Serie A aims to raise at least 1.15 billion euros (US$1.4 billion) per season over the next three years from the sale of pay-TV rights for its home market, two sources with knowledge of the matter said on Friday. At a meeting on Friday, clubs approved the terms of a tender that will likely be launched in January, the sources said. Under a three-year contract expiring in 2021, Serie A raised 973 million euros per season from the sale of its domestic licenses to Comcast's unit SKY and global sports provider DAZN The League did not immediately respond to a request for a comment. Serie A is hiving off its media rights business and selling a minority stake in the unit to private equity investors, in a move aimed at propping up revenues in the face of the pandemic. Also on Friday, Amazon said it has secured exclusive rights to screen top European Champions League soccer matches in Italy on its Prime Video platform for the 2021-2024 seasons, … [Read more...] about Serie A aims to raise 3.5 billion euros from domestic rights sale

Soccer-Talking-points from the Serie A weekend

· December 21, 2020 ·

REUTERS: Talking-points from the Serie A weekend: ATALANTA COACH REFUSES TO DISCUSS GOMEZ SITUATION Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini refused to discuss the situation of his captain Alejandro Gomez who did not even make the bench for Sunday's Serie A match against AS Roma amid widespread reports that the pair had fallen out. Gomez, 32, joined the club from Catania in 2014 and the Argentine has been a key player in the team's rise from a midtable outfit to one of the most entertaining teams in the league. He is now expected to leave the club in the January transfer window. "We drew at Juventus, we beat Ajax (Amsterdam), beat AS Roma and yet you only talk about this," said Gasperini after a 4-1 win over Roma. "That's enough. "Atalanta deserve to be talked about for their performances and we want respect to be shown to the players who are going out there and getting the results." MORE FRUSTRATION FOR ERIKSEN Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen had another … [Read more...] about Soccer-Talking-points from the Serie A weekend

In Bosnia’s Mostar, ethnic parties win first local vote in 12 years

· December 21, 2020 ·

MOSTAR: Preliminary results from the first local election in 12 years in the Bosnian town of Mostar on Sunday (Dec 21) showed most votes going to the Croat and Bosniak parties whose rivalry had left the ethnically divided town without a city council since 2012. The coalition of multi-ethnic moderate parties BH Bloc won enough votes to act as a kingmaker in the future 35-member city council, according to unofficial preliminary results from the parties and election authorities. It is not clear if the two main parties will form a coalition again or enter coalitions with other smaller parties. "I expect the city to start functioning because so far nothing has been functioning," Hedija Hadzic, a woman in her 50s, told Reuters TV. "At least we'll get the city council." The southern town, renowned for its Ottoman-era Old Bridge, is the most multi-ethnic town in Bosnia but the Croat and Bosniak communities have been largely separated by the Neretva river since the end of the … [Read more...] about In Bosnia’s Mostar, ethnic parties win first local vote in 12 years
