Senator Lindsey Graham has warned that former President Donald Trump could destroy the Republican Party or rebuild it as a bigger and more diverse coalition after his combative speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Speaking to Axios on HBO , the South Carolina Republican said Trump was a "bigger-than-life deal," and argued that he had the power to either make the GOP stronger or bring it to its knees. He added that the former president had a "dark side" but also "some magic there," as he claimed to be trying to "harness the magic" of the former commander-in-chief. "There's something about Trump. There's a dark side and there's some magic there. What I'm trying to do is just harness the magic," Graham told Axios. "To me, Donald Trump is a sort of a cross between Jesse Helms, Ronald Reagan, and P.T. Barnum." The senator added: "I mean it's just this bigger-than-life deal. He could make the Republican Party something that nobody else I know can make it. … [Read more...] about Lindsey Graham Warns Donald Trump Could ‘Destroy’ GOP After Combative CPAC Speech

Lisa Murkowksi Explains Vote Against Stimulus Bill as Donald Trump Threat Looms
Senator Lisa Murkowski has explained her vote against the latest COVID-19 relief bill as former President Donald Trump threatens to campaign against the Alaska Republican in her home state in the 2022 midterm elections. Releasing a statement on Sunday, Sen. Murkowski said President Joe Biden 's $1.9 trillion stimulus bill was "wholly partisan" and dubbed some measures in the plan "unnecessary" and unrelated to the ongoing pandemic. She also said she was concerned that the relief bill—known as the American Rescue Plan—would provide further help to those who had already "benefited" from the pandemic. A key plank of the $1.9 trillion is very popular among Alaskans—the plan for a new round of $1,400 stimulus checks. A February poll found that 68 percent of voters in the state backed the measure Murkowski voted against on Saturday. In her lengthy statement, Murkowski said: "Individual payments along with a further extension of Unemployment Insurance will be important to many … [Read more...] about Lisa Murkowksi Explains Vote Against Stimulus Bill as Donald Trump Threat Looms

South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called former President Donald Trump a cross between Jesse Helms, Ronald Reagan and P.T. Barnum. During an interview on Sunday with Axios on HBO , Graham spoke about Trump's role in the Republican Party and mentioned that he thinks the former president is similar to Helms, the former North Carolina Senator who was a leading name in the conservative movement, Reagan, who served as the 40th president and Barnum, who was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, but most notably known for founding the Barnum and Bailey Circus. Donald Trump Picking Family As 2024 Running Mate Would Risk Losing GOP Voters
Former President Donald Trump is being touted as a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate , raising the question of potential running mates. Trump has alluded to the possibility of another presidential bid and polling has indicated he could be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination if he opted to do so. His advisor Jason Miller last week branded a Bloomberg report over Trump weighing up another run with an alternative partner to former Vice President Mike Pence "fake news," and said there had been "no such conversations." If Trump were to run and pick someone other than Pence, his eldest children Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump having both been discussed as potential candidates for office themselves. However, opting for someone from within his family could see Trump miss the opportunity to pick a partner who would broaden the ticket's appeal. "Obviously, a father running with one of his children would be unprecedented in American history," David … [Read more...] about Donald Trump Picking Family As 2024 Running Mate Would Risk Losing GOP Voters

In a Monday night interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity , former President Donald Trump 's son, Donald Trump Jr., said that Chinese "investment in Hunter Biden " will affect President Joe Biden 's policies towards China. "China, tells us what we're going to be doing," Trump Jr. said. "You know, that billion dollars to Hunter, that didn't come for free. That was a great return on investment for the Chinese because they know they can get away with it, and our political class will say nothing because they've been on the take in the same way for decades." In the months before the November presidential election, Trump and his campaign surrogates repeatedly alleged that Hunter Biden had used his father's previous role as Obama's Vice President to assist his business deals in China and Ukraine . However, the allegations failed to sway voters and were disavowed as untrue by both Hunter Biden's attorney and Biden's campaign spokesperson. A mid-September 2020 Senate … [Read more...] about Donald Trump Jr. Says Chinese ‘Investment in Hunter Biden’ Will Affect Joe Biden’s China Policies
