International Diploma of Sustainable Development to revolutionize Phuket education

PHUKET: A new International Diploma of Sustainable Development course being established by Prince of Songkla University (Phuket Campus) is the beginning of an education revolution in Phuket. “Transforming the educational paradigm to provide a rich and vibrant education” is the goal of the new Andaman International College of Arts and Sciences to be opened in 2015, which was announced by Dr Chantinee Boonchai, the project director of the new diploma course. The program will consist of two years of integrated arts and science subjects and two years specialized major subject studies. Participants in the program will also link up with international universities specializing in their field of study. The diploma is a stride in the direction of realizing that the future belongs to the young people of Phuket. Will Eisner and the Secret History of the Graphic Novel

Works like Maus , Persepolis , and Fun Home have garnered Pulitzers, given birth to film and theater adaptations, topped best-seller lists, and elevated comics art from a disdained medium into an acclaimed one. But who, exactly, invented the graphic novel? Debates over its origins have raged ever since the term graphic novel first came into vogue in the late 1970s. But new research is bringing us closer to an answer. The origin of the graphic novel is a bit of a detective story, and a principal suspect is the man profiled in the upcoming book Will Eisner: Champion of the Graphic Novel , written by longtime comics writer, editor, historian, and former president of DC Comics Paul Levitz. Educators Receive COVID-19 Vaccines At Duarte Clinic As LA County Ramps Up Administration Efforts

DUARTE (CBSLA) — More than 700 educators lined up outside the Duarte Performing Arts Center on Saturday morning to receive their COVID-19 vaccines. City of Hope National Medical Center helped administer doses and the invite-only clinic, which targeted eight neighboring school districts that are trying to get their teachers fully vaccinated. OAU announces resumption dates for practical courses

Kindly Share This Story: Authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, have announced resumption dates for practical courses in some faculties, beginning from March 8, a special release from the institution has said. The release signed by the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, and sent to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Saturday, in Ile-Ife, stated that the first group comprising Science Parts 1 – 4, including Pharmacy would be expected on campus from Monday, 8th of March, 2021 to Friday, 26th of March, 2021. Others includes: BMS, Parts 1 to 2; Nursing, Med. Rehab Parts 1 to 3 ; Clinical – Parts 1 to 3; Dentistry – Parts 1 to 3; Education (Science related) – Parts 1 to 4; and Social Sciences – Parts 1 to 4 The second group, which comprise Administration – Parts 1 to 4; and Agriculture – Parts 1 to 5 would be expected on campus from Monday, 29th of March, 2021 to Friday, 16th of April, 2021. Houseowner discovers 3,000 year old skeletons on land in Ang Thong province

A houseowner in the central province of Ang Thong, has discovered 3 skeletons on his land that are thought to be over 3,000 years old. 54 year old Somkiat Briboon says this most recent discovery isn’t the first, as the first lot of bones was found last year after preparing his 17 rai worth of land, in Sawang Ha District, to be rented out for sugarcane farming. It was then that he found 9 skeletons, only later to find 6 more. The skeletons were found with bowls and other kitchen utensils found laying on top of them. He transferred the skeletons to his home, wrapping them in blue sheets, describing some of the bones as smaller in size, resembling that of women or children. He says he also found ancient artifacts with the bones and arranged to have them shipped to Bangkok’s Fine Arts Department for research purposes. But he says he wants to eventually build his own museum housing the display of bones and artifacts for educational purposes.
