GREATER NOIDA: The Government Institute of Medical Sciences ( GIMS ) is set to get an upgrade with 20 dialysis units likely to be brought in soon, along with an MRI machine. Apart from that, bed charges in the private ward have been reduced to Rs 1,000. Officials said charges for dialysis will be around Rs 1,300 per patient. The MRI machine will come in a month and the charge will be Rs 1,500 per person. GIMS will also set up a research centre in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in three months. The ICMR will give Rs 5 crore for all collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. The findings of a new and broad scope opinion study titled “The International Climate and Public Opinion Observatory” showed that the public is more worried about climate change than a year ago but believes that the fight must involve the joint efforts of the citizens and their governments. Nature is grand. Nature is metal. And sometimes nature is weird with a side of sad. Researchers at the University of Florida and the Florida Museum found a record-setting lizard in Cocoa Beach . The northern curly-tailed lizard had been feeding near a grease bin at a pizza restaurant. "Mouthfuls of insects, an anole and greasy sand congealed into an unpassable glob of poop nearly 80% of the animal's total body mass -- the largest known feces-to-body-mass ratio recorded in a living animal," the Florida Museum said in a sobering release this week . At first, the scientists thought the lizard was pregnant, but the body didn't feel right. A CT scan revealed the awful truth.
