HCMC sends enlistment invitation to nearly 4,000 young people this year

In order to ensure strict implementation of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, most of enlistees will be taken samples for SARS-CoV-2 testing before the enlistee handover ceremonies on March 3. Restaurants, other services in HCM City to reopen

HCM CITY will reopen restaurants and other services from March 1. Other places such as gyms and theatres, bars, pubs remain closed until further notice. — Photo: baogiaothong.vn HCM CITY — The city authorities of HCM City have allowed the reopening of restaurants and other services starting from March 1. There have been no community transmitted COVID-19 cases in the city since February 11. Dương Anh Đức, deputy chairman of the city's People's Committee, said the city could reopen tourism activities, food and beverage businesses, wholesale markets, wet markets, museums and libraries. However, services such as bars, pubs, beer clubs, sports facilities and gyms will remain closed until further notice. Activities not included in these groups can reopen but must comply with COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control regulations. 11.21 lakh people tested for COVID so far in the city

There are 3,930 active cases in PMC limits, of which 231 are critical; 410 under oxygen therapy OnThursday, Pune district reported 1,542 fresh COVID cases. It has taken the tally to 4,03,497. Eight people succumbed to the virus, taking the toll to 9,214. Also, 1,033 patients recovered — so far, 3,85,693 have been discharged. Among the new cases, 766 are in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits, 453 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 253 in rural areas and 70 in cantonment limits. There are 3,930 active cases in Pune city , of which 231 are critical. Also, 410 patients are undergoing oxygen treatment in various city hospitals. On Thursday, 6,556 tests were conducted by PMC, which took the cumulative total to 11.21 lakh. Out of the eight deaths, a, 85-yearold woman from Hadapsar was the oldest fatality. ‘Eating rats’: Myanmar’s second COVID-19 lockdown drives hunger in city slums

YANGON: After the first wave of coronavirus hit Myanmar in March, 36-year-old Ma Suu closed her salad stall and pawned her jewelry and gold to buy food to eat. During the second wave, when the government issued a stay-home order in September for Yangon, Ma Suu shut her stall again and sold her clothes, plates and pots.
