Democrat Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) has on his three most recent financial disclosure forms filed with the clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives reported holdings worth more than $100,000 in the Bank of China, a state-owned bank run by the Chinese Communist Party. On the second page of his calendar year 2017 , 2018 , and 2019 disclosure documents, Gonzalez reported the holdings valued at between $100,001 and $250,000 in the Bank of China. Each report includes a disclosure that Gonzalez earned between $2,501 and $5,000 in interest each year from the Bank of China account. The congressman has, according to the disclosures, other holdings worth more that paid less in interest. His 2017 report, filed in 2018, for instance revealed he had between $250,001 and $500,000 in an “Everbank” account that he reported collected no interest. His 2018 disclosure report revealed an account with TIAA Bank worth between $250,001 and $500,000 that collected only between $201 and $1,000 … [Read more...] about Exclusive — Democrat Congressman Vicente Gonzalez Reports Thousands in Questionable Interest Income from Bank of China Account

Rights Champion Decries China’s ‘War on Women’ on Women’s Day
Human rights champion Reggie Littlejohn took advantage of International Women’s Day to condemn the continuing forced abortions and other violations of women’s rights perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). “The women’s movement can claim no real victory so long as this scourge against women continues to blight the face of the earth,” said Littlejohn, president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers. “Chinese women cannot stand up against forced abortion without risking detention, for themselves and for their families.” “How can the so-called first world celebrate the global triumph of women’s rights when the CCP continues its war on women with no repercussions?” Littlejohn told Breitbart News. China’s two-child (formerly one-child) policy has also resulted in a huge gender gap because of the preference for male children and the extermination of girls in the womb. “Gendercide – the sex selective abortion of baby girls – has been practiced for generations in China, … [Read more...] about Rights Champion Decries China’s ‘War on Women’ on Women’s Day
China Mulls Mandatory Dating and Marriage Courses in College
A Chinese lawmaker proposed during the annual “Two Sessions” this weekend that the Communist Party implement a mandatory college course on dating, marriage, and parenting. China’s state-run Global Times reported Monday that the initiative would first require the Party to draft and approve an academic textbook on relationships and building families. That textbook would then hypothetically be used for a mandatory course required for Chinese undergraduates nationwide. The proposal is one of several Communist Party attempts to tackle the nation’s catastrophic birth rate, which collapsed even further amid the Chinese coronavirus pandemic in 2020. After decades of imposing a “one-child policy” nationwide, banning Han Chinese citizens from having more than one child and subjecting violators to forced abortions and infanticides, the nation has one of the most peculiar gender imbalances in the world. As of 2019, China boasted 34 million more men than women, leaving a particular … [Read more...] about China Mulls Mandatory Dating and Marriage Courses in College
Chinese official in Hong Kong says electoral changes needed to close ‘loopholes’
HONG KONG (REUTERS) - Beijing’s plans to change Hong Kong’s electoral system will protect the city’s international role, a senior Chinese official said on Tuesday (March 9), as critics decry the move as an end of democratic hopes in the former British colony. Deputy Commissioner of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, Mr Song Ru’an told reporters the proposed changes were an internal matter for China and were needed to "close obvious loopholes and deficiencies" in the city’s political system. China’s Parliament, the National People’s Congress (NPC), is expected to approve on Thursday (March 11) a resolution that will reduce democratic representation in Hong Kong institutions and vet any candidates for "patriotism". The measures will tweak the size and composition of Hong Kong’s legislature and the electoral committee selecting the chief executive further in favour of pro-Beijing figures. The committee will also be given powers to select many legislators. It was … [Read more...] about Chinese official in Hong Kong says electoral changes needed to close ‘loopholes’
Recovering from America’s strategic failures with China
In a perilous time for American domestic politics, the rise of the People’s Republic of China indicates that global politics is no better. Historically, American leaders advanced the country’s interests, including identifying threats and difficulties the U.S. confronted. However, the willingness and even the ability of America’s leaders to identify the threat from China changed noticeably after the end of the Cold War because of economics, former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping’s deception, and the failure of U.S. strategists. The economic element was the employment of Chinese manufacturing and intellectual labor for the profit of American and other Western businesses. U.S. firms made huge profits, which translated into political influence to sustain the situation. Akin to what Russia’s Vladimir Lenin identified in his classic work “ Imperialism, ” Wall Street permitted Chinese firms — controlled directly or indirectly by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) — to raise money on American … [Read more...] about Recovering from America’s strategic failures with China
