REUTERS: Luna Rossa are firm underdogs heading into next month's America's Cup match against holders Team New Zealand (TNZ) but it would be a mistake to write off the Italian team's chances after their dominant display in the Challenger Series final, INEOS Team UK skipper Ben Ainslie has said. Luna Rossa crushed Ainslie's INEOS 7-1 in the best-of-13 series in Auckland and will have a second tilt at the world's oldest sporting trophy when they take on TNZ from March 6. The two teams previously went head to head in the 2000 America's Cup match in Auckland and in the 2007 Challenger Series final in Valencia. TNZ swept both ties 5-0 but Ainslie expects a much tighter battle this time around. ""We know how good the Kiwis are. It's a bit like taking on the All Blacks at Eden Park, round here on the Hauraki Gulf," Ainslie said. "But Luna Rossa have definitely got a chance. "They are strong in all conditions but particularly in lighter airs. Racing in these finals has been pretty … [Read more...] about Luna Rossa will be no pushovers, says INEOS’ Ainslie

Chris Godwin: I won’t put myself in miserable situation for a few extra dollars
Getty Images Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is one of a handful of key players from the Super Bowl LV champs that are on their way to free agency next month and he shared some of his thoughts about the situation on Tuesday. Godwin was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show and said that he thinks the Bucs continue to be headed in the right direction after the successful end to the 2021 season, which makes him want to continue to play for the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2017 draft. He knows that he can’t close his eyes to the possibility that he’ll wind up playing elsewhere if the numbers don’t add up in Tampa, although he promised that money won’t be the only consideration when and if he hits the open market. “I want to be here. I love the guys on the team,” Godwin said. “I think we got something special, but, at the same time, you got to consider all the possibilities out there and consider doing what’s best for you and your family . . . . The goal … [Read more...] about Chris Godwin: I won’t put myself in miserable situation for a few extra dollars
Commentary: Forces of climate action are reshaping finance in Singapore and around the world
SINGAPORE: It’s easy to think of climate change as a distant issue that would affect other countries, when Singapore, at first sight, does not seem prone to extreme weather events such as the recent flooding in China or bushfires in Australia . But most of us sat up when Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced a goal of spending at least S$100 billion for adaptation to rising sea levels at the National Day Rally in August 2019. And in Singapore’s urbanised and humid environment, increasing heat is a real health concern. His announcement framed further changes underscoring the looming climate emergency and the steady realisation that countries, communities and businesses must retool themselves for that future. The global financial community too, is grasping this new reality and its implications for investments. “Climate change has become a defining factor in companies’ long-term prospects … Every government, company, and shareholder must confront climate change” … [Read more...] about Commentary: Forces of climate action are reshaping finance in Singapore and around the world
