1:38 p.m. Tech stocks lead markets higher: Stocks soared Wednesday as tech companies posted their best day in about four months, recouping some of their steep losses in the past several sessions. The Dow Jones industrial average added 440 points to close at 27,940, a gain of 1.6%. The S&P 500 jumped 2% and the Nasdaq composite advanced 2.7%. Shares of Tesla, which slid 21% Tuesday, its worst day ever, ended Wednesday up more than 10%. Apple, which lost more than 6% in the previous session, was up by 4%.
