· March 4, 2021 ·

Rupert Everett stunned viewers during his appearance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories as he opened up about his extraordinarily unusual family life. The actor, 61, revealed he was shipped off to boarding school at age seven, and when he returned home in the holidays he shared a bed with his mother until he was a teenager. Rupert also told Piers he went on his first fox hunt when he was 11, and his family members smeared the blood of the dead fox on his face. "I loathed it, I hated it, I screamed and ran off," he said. Piers asked: "Did he ever tell you he loved you?" Rupert replied: "No of course not, nobody in my family ever said that, the biggest compliment in my family you used to get was 'well parked' in driving. "I had a great deal of affection for my mother, I slept with my mother until I was 14, and we wheeled toes together in the bed. "I had a very tactile relationship with my mother, but not any of the men in my family." · March 5, 2021 ·

The Queen has welcomed two new puppies to her household. For the first time in two years Her Majesty will have a couple of corgis at Windsor Castle. It is not known what the name, ages or sex of the pets are, but they seem to have come at a good time, with the monarch needing some company while Prince Philip is in hospital. “The Queen is delighted," a source told The Sun. "They have only been there a couple of weeks but are said to be adorable and made the castle their home. “Both are said to be bringing in a lot of noise and energy into the castle while Philip is in hospital.” It is thought that the dogs were a gift, filling a dog shaped whole in Elizabeth II's life. On her 18th birthday in 1944 she received a corgi called Susan who subsequently provided more than 30 descendants. The last of them, Whisper, died in 2018, leaving the Queen corgi-less for the first time in 74 years. Before her latest pair of pups, Her Majesty's only remaining dog was Candy the dorgi, … [Read more...] about Queen gifted pair of new ‘adorable’ corgi puppies years after last one died

Prince Philip won Queen’s affection with ‘unusual skill’ and jokes during first meeting

· March 5, 2021 ·

The world has watched The Queen and Prince Philip's relationship continue to grow stronger and stronger over the years since they were married at Westminster Abbey in November 1947. But do you know how it all began? Their romance officially began when the Queen was 17 and Philip was 22, but the pair actually met several years earlier. Aged 13, the then Princess Elizabeth joined her father King George VI, the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret during a trip to Dartmouth Britannia Royal Naval College, where Philip was training. And it was by pure chance that they ended up meeting - and it was all down to a nasty outbreak of mumps and chickenpox. According to the Queen's former governess Marion Crawford, Philip was one of the few cadets who wasn't taken ill so was invited to meet them. He is said to have suggested they go down to the tennis courts, where he showed off by jumping over the nets. In her book The Little Princesses, Marion claims the Queen was particularly … [Read more...] about Prince Philip won Queen’s affection with ‘unusual skill’ and jokes during first meeting
