2016 Coup Attempt: 148 suspects to be detained
Kindly Share This Story: Turkish prosecutors on Wednesday ordered the detention of 148 people in nationwide raids over their alleged links to a network behind a coup attempt in 2016, local media reported. Acting upon the order of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in the western city of Izmir, police launched simultaneous operations in 47 provinces across the country to catch the suspects, the state-run Anadolu agency said. READ ALSO: No baby boom in China as births fall by nearly a third in 2020 All those targeted in operations were military personnel, including 103 soldiers on active duty, who had alleged links to the network headed by the United States-based Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, the agency noted. So far, 130 of them have been detained in operations, it said. Burisma Lawyer: Investigation into Biden Company Continued Well into 2016
A recent Bloomberg report purportedly “casts doubt” on the reporting regarding Joe Biden’s conflict of interest in Ukraine. Biden’s conflict stems from Burisma Holdings (Burisma), a Ukrainian natural gas company where Biden’s son, Hunter, was a director. In March 2016, Joe Biden threatened to withhold IMF funding from Ukraine if officials did not fire Viktor Shokin, who was then serving as Ukraine’s Prosecutor General. At the time, Shokin’s office was overseeing an investigation into Burisma and its owner, Mykola Zlochevsky. Report: Urban modern agriculture development in Shanghai the best in China
Shanghai topped the national ranking in terms of urban modern agriculture development in 2018, according to a report released by Shanghai Jiao Tong University on Wednesday. The city was followed by Beijing and Sichuan province's Chengdu. Published biennially, the report is based on the research of over 14.81 million hectares of arable land - or 12 percent of the total arable land nationwide – in 35 cities that can grow 110 million tons of vegetables. Contributory indexes of the research include five first-level indicators like agricultural product security and sustainable development, as well as 23 second-level indicators. "With advantages in human capital and technology advancement, Shanghai excels in developing agricultural production bases, ecological quality control, and ensuring the safety and quality of agricultural products," said Zhou Pei, secretary of the Party Committee of the agriculture and biology school from the university.
