Is Chivalry based on a true story? Truth behind Steve Coogan’s Me Too comedy

Steve Coogan is back on Channel 4 with his latest comedy-drama, Chivalry. This is a different kind of comedy, one that is pulling from some very serious events that will ring true to many. It is also billed as a romance, showing the ups and downs of a relationship in Hollywood during the #MeToo era. Now that the first episode has aired (April 21) some fans are questioning just how real the show is. In the face of Hollywood scandal over the past five years or more, events seem to reflect some stories that hit headlines from 2016 onwards. Coogan has co-written the show as he draws upon some very realistic situations. What is Chivalry about? Steve Coogan co-wrote and co-created the series Chivalry is a new Channel 4 comedy-drama starring Steve Coogan and Sarah Solemani. It is billed as both an exploration of the #MeToo era in Hollywood and a romance. Solemani plays Bobby, an indie filmmaker who is trying to salvage Cameron’s (played by Steve Coogan) new film.
