But if it makes you feel better, Tia and Tamara Landry were inspired by creator Kim Bass's twin sisters. Though Bass's sisters weren't separated at birth, brought up in different families and were finally reunited at a clothing store in a mall, he did base Tia and Tamera's relationship on his own sisters'. Along with Gary Gilbert and Fred Shafferman, the three ran with the idea and once actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry were hired for the roles, it became a reality.
