President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that veterans who passed away from the coronavirus while taking hydroxychloroquine were sick people who were ‘ready to die.’ Trump has been defending his decision to take the anti-malaria drug, which has several side effects, to counter any possible exposure with the coronavirus after two cases were detected in the White House in the past month. He blasted a study that used data from the veterans’ administration and showed a higher rate of death among those who received the drug. ‘There was a false study done, where they gave it to very sick people, extremely sick people, people that were ready to die,’ President Trump said during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Tuesday.
