Migrants have gone on the run in the English countryside after 29 others were caught crossing the Channel in small boats yesterday. A total of three boats and an inflatable kayak attempted to make the crossing, with one boat coming ashore at Winchelsea, east Sussex. Eleven people were detained while others may have fled into the surrounding area. Later nine migrants were held after a boat landed at the Leas in Folkestone, Kent. Six others were arrested on Hastings Pier after a boat was reported in the Channel with two of those being taken to hospital.
