More than 380 firms participate in MTA Vietnam 2018 By Hung Le HCMC – Some 380 firms from 16 countries and territories are participating in MTA Vietnam 2018, the 16th international expo of precision engineering, machine tools and metalworking. The event is being held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in HCMC’s District 7 until July 6. This year’s exhibition also features 13 national pavilions, including those of the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Thailand, which are showcasing their key strengths in the field of mechanics. There is also a Japanese pavilion hosted by JETRO, displaying metallic or metal-shaping machinery, maintenance equipment, measuring tools and other components. Many activities have been organized on the sidelines of the show. For instance, an event, titled, “MTA Vietnam 2018 technology forum,” is open throughout the four-day expo. This event targets outstanding manufacturing sectors, such as metal cutting and shaping machines, cutting tools and auxiliary equipment. BT Tee, general manager of UBM Vietnam, which is hosting the expo, explained that the annual event aims to offer comprehensive support to the mechanical engineering industry, besides featuring a wide range of technological products to meet the demands of metal working, precise engineering and other similar services to help local and regional manufacturers maintain their competitive strengths.
