Vietnam hosts ASEAN photo, film festival
The Saigon Times Daily
The Ministry of Information and Communications has launched a festival featuring photos and documentary films on the peoples of the ASEAN countries, Nhan Dan newspaper reports.
The festival will highlight the images and peoples of the ASEAN nations, said Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan at a press conference on the launch of the festival in Hanoi last week.
He said the festival carries an important meaning as the ASEAN Community will take shape later this year.
The ministry will receive photo, reportage and documentary film entries about cultures, costumes, traditions, languages, health, education, industries, agriculture, and environments of the ASEAN nations from individuals and groups of ASEAN countries from June 15 at its Center for Press and International Communication Cooperation.
The deadline for submitting entries is October 31. An award ceremony is expected to take place in December in Vietnam.
More information about requirements and submission may be obtained at the ministry’s website http://mic.gov.vn, and websites of the ASEAN Secretariat and Vietnamese Embassies in the region.
