Early last year, Vin Diesel announced that “Furious 8” would hit theaters April 14, 2017. The most recent installment, “Furious 7,” had only been in theaters for little over a month, and raked in $1 billion in 17 days. Now, the actor has announced the dates for the final two installments. The remaining three movies in the “Fast and Furious” franchise will be spaced out by two years, with the ninth installment coming to theaters on April 19, 2019, and the 10th on April 2, 2021. The announcement was made earlier this week on Vin Diesel’s Instagram account. It’s been previously hinted that the next installment will be filmed in New York City, when Diesel teased an image of the first poster for the movie that has been titled “Fast 8” with a backdrop of the city’s skyline.
