Destiny 's story has been a punchline since the game came out. Story? What story? Destiny has a story? Good joke! And yeah, okay, yeah. Fair enough. You just wouldn't know it from playing the game, unless you paid very close attention. Most of the best lore is buried in what are known as "Grimoire Cards," which you unlock and read on the internet separately from the game. There is some pretty good stuff happening in those Grimoire Cards. Despite the fact that they placed it all outside the actual game , the stories Bungie's writers came up with can be pretty cool.
