THE HUNDRED WOMENS COMPETITION 2022 by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Danielle Wyatt's 65 off 34 balls led Southern Brave to a six-wicket win over London Spirit © Getty Danielle Wyatt's 65 off 34 balls led Southern Brave to a six-wicket win over London Spirit in their season opener in Southampton. Beth Mooney struck an effortless 97* off 55 balls but Brave, powered by Wyatt's start at the top, chased the 156-run target with six balls to spare. It was the highest successful chase in Women's Hundred. Spirit captain Charlotte Dean opted to bat, an opportunity that Mooney ran with during her superlative knock, that consisted of 16 fours and a six. She lost her opening partner Grace Scrivens off the 26th ball but was able to put the innings back on track with an 87-run stand for the second wicket with Amelia Kerr (37 off 27). IRELAND VS AFGHANISTAN, 3RD T20I by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Gurbaz completed a 31-ball half-century. © Getty Afghanistan needed their players to step up and produce a big performance to stay alive in the five-match T20I series, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najibullah Zadran, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman did just that. The first two played crucial hands at either end of the Afghanistan innings to help rack up a total of 189. The other two helped close out the team's first win of the series - by 22 runs - after two indifferent performances. The visitors, who were sent in to bat by Andrew Balbirnie, didn't overreact to their twin defeats at the start of the series and made but a solitary change to their personnel after Hazratullah Zazai, now recovered from his illness, replaced Hashmatullah Shahidi in the line-up.
